Acceptance of self

Self-acceptance, a well-known terminology, yet unknown as always. I remember my old days when I just started my job and there was a situation where the authorities asked, "Who did this?" An instant answer on my mouth was, "I don't know." That mistake was done by me, but my brain immediately forgot all that, and my mouth had an instant no ready. Later on when I revisited this situation and analyzed my role, I realized that I was unable to accept my mistake and took the help of a lie to hide myself. 

I was able to realize this because before this situation I had practiced a lot to accept the reality as it comes. I had learned that we all are not perfect and we all can make mistakes. I had experienced before the extra energy that I needed to accept the reality as it is. This practice was one of the reasons that made me feel guilty about saying a lie. 
I brought this so that we all can realize that self-acceptance is not an automatic or default setting. It is easy to accept the good parts, but when it comes to our flaws, we just don't want to see them, but they are the ones that we really need to accept. The following enlightenment is taken from the book, "The Self-Acceptance Project: How to Be Kind and Compassionate Towards Yourself in Any Situation."

How do we practice self-acceptance?

1) Breaking the trance of unworthiness: Our whole lives we have lived for others standards. Do you remember the last time you made a choice for yourself? Your courses are decided by your parents, your marriage is again in the hands of your parents, don't meet them, etc. Yes, care is there, but that care is hindering. We don't realize this. How many of you feel confident in taking decisions on your own? I am sure not many because we are filled with inferiority throughout our lives. The way to break this trance is R.A.I.N.
Recognize what is going on. Take a break.
Allow the thoughts and feelings to deepen the pause. Don't turn your back to them as if they don't exist. 
Investigate with kindness. Let messages of compassion carry you to the larger energy field we belong to.
Not identified. Here we take a bold step to be not identified with the unworthy self. Once we do this we are free to inhabit our wholeness, loving awareness that was clouded.
2) Subconscious level healing: We are trained to comply, compete, and compare ourselves. Life is no longer a journey but rather a platform where we draw our worthiness mainly from external perspective, judgement, and validation. We end up with negative self-talk from our subconscious mind. They are signals that our inner self wants to protect us from the hurt or pain, but the key is that our subconscious is stuck in the past, and we have developed so much since then. We need to start updating our inner self of our capabilities.

How do we embody this newly learned self-acceptance?

There are many steps, but it all begins with self-compassion. I will be dealing with it in later posts.

Kindness to self

  In my previous post I had been talking about self-compassion. The formula Dr Kristin Neff has given is Self-Compassion = Self-Kindness + Human connection + Mindfulness Now, compassion means sympathetic consciousness of other's distress together with a desire to alleviate it. So, self-compassion means sympathetic consciousness of one's own distress together with a desire to alleviate it.  Kindness means the quality of being friendly, generous, and considerate. (taken from oxford languages dictionary .) This means that in order to be sympathetically conscious about one's own distress, I need to be friendly, generous, and considerate to myself. the grains of sand holds no hand as waves land then pull away its stand willingly they dissipate allowing for a new date to taste the love without hate wrapped in the gown of jade served with a unique garnish which requires no varnish for it becomes the reason to furnish that refuses to vanish. my ears could hear the tinkling of the anklets as she walks thru the arcade playing the melody of the ballad which stood valid  even after the sunset for her arms knows only to donate until the cycle of time rotates and the atmosphere of happiness circulates just the way pandemic did proliferate for under her umbrella no other seed fella but the colony of care dwells pushing off the aura of hell so feel the fairness of her as she spills the aroma cure making the soul rest in peace unfolding herself to various wish.
