When I started to search for this topic, I came across one of these posts on positive psychology . The site says that either because of your curiosity, some life's situation, or some events in life, you are pushed to search for your higher self.   I still remember those days when I had secured a good job and was earning quite well. I was single and had much time after work. Those were the days when I started to think about what to do now.  My city did not have big libraries or bookstores. In this new city, I found a good bookstore and bought many books and CDs of my interest. I started reading them. They refined my thinking and guided me to Waterman's (2011) process of searching for my true self. Qualities of inner self

The starring word of our lives is "the self." Who is this self, the inner self? Someone whom I can see with my eyes. Na, if so, I would have been able to describe it well. It is pretty easy to define what we are able to see well with our eyes. Then I can see myself in the mirror, and I can define it profoundly. Then is this "the self?"  The answer seems yes; this could be the self, as it talks about how I look, but I am sorry, this is not your real self. It is just an outer representation of you. There is something deep down within us that is not visible yet powerful enough to carve you or starve you. It lives in our subconscious mind (Schaefer et al., 2017), the very place that we can visit anytime we want to explore something.
