Discovering my cooking mind
Moving out of the house remains the biggest dream of everyone. Mine was the same. Studying in a college was quite good. I hardly remember missing my family. Getting a job was icing on top. Now life seemed settled. This was the moment when I felt relaxed and content. Then I started thinking about what to do next. My mother is a good cook. I always longed to cook like her, both creatively and tastily.
In my school days, I saw my friends cooking tasty dishes in sixth class, and I was nowhere. I also wanted to cook good food like my mother and like my friends.
I still remember the first dish I prepared. It was "aloo bhuji." I prepared three or four large potatoes. My potatoes were getting sticky to my kadhai, but still they were not cooked well. I put water on it, and it started sticking more. I have used more turmeric also so that I get a good yellow color. I also used more cumin powder.
My family members said it was okay, and when I tasted it, I couldn't even take one bite. This gave me a desire to become a better cook in my life. Later on, when I started staying in the mess, in my free time I use to give a try to new dishes: cakes, chicken dishes, gajar ka halwa, etc.
In this due course of practice, I discovered Kitchen King Masala. It adds awesome flavor to food. I was very happy when I found my food was tasting awesome. Then I started trying masalas. Another favored masala was from the Eastern Company. I like every flavor of it. So, now my kitchen is full of Kitchen King and Eastern Masalas that makes me the best cook now.
Wow! Glad to know that you have mastered the art of cooking delicious dishes!
ReplyDeleteWhat I have observed is that though we are living in the age of Swiggy and Zomato, so many youngsters -- both boys and girls -- are learning to cook. With YouTube just a tap away on the phone, it has become very easy.
My son, for example, when he was in school and college, didn't even make a cup of tea or coffee at home. Now that he has got a job and is living away from us, he has learnt to make so many dishes.
